Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we get regularly about reviews, the ordering process, editorial standards, and what Questilog does and doesn't do.

About Reviews & Editorial Independence

Custom review orders mean we commit to playing and covering the game. They do not mean we commit to writing a positive review. The editorial conclusion reflects what the editor found after playing. If a game has significant problems, those will be mentioned. Sponsored content is labelled clearly, but the label affects transparency — not the content of the review. Our Editorial Policy explains the boundary in detail.
No. We don't send drafts to developers for approval. Finished pieces are published directly. We will correct factual errors on request after publication — wrong release dates, incorrect developer credits, technical inaccuracies — but we don't change editorial conclusions once published.
Any content produced under a commercial arrangement is marked clearly at the top of the page with a disclosure note. The labelling is visible and uses plain language — it doesn't hide behind vague terms like "partner content" without explanation.

Platform & Genre Coverage

Primarily PC (Steam and Epic, mostly), PlayStation (PS4 and PS5), and Nintendo Switch. Xbox coverage is more limited — one team member has current-gen hardware, but their time is shared across other coverage. We note which platform a game was played on in every review. If you're unsure whether we can cover your game, email us and we'll confirm.
Yes — and this is probably where Questilog is most consistent. Smaller studios rarely get review coverage proportionate to the work they put into their games. We don't have a minimum studio size or publisher requirement for coverage. A game that deserves a proper review gets one regardless of who made it.
Occasionally. Major releases get coverage when an editor has played the game and has something useful to say. We're selective — we don't review every major release just to have a take posted on the same day as everyone else. Custom review orders for AAA games are possible but capacity is limited.

Custom Review Orders

Use the Order a Review form. Include your game title, platform, a brief description, and your preferred coverage window. We'll confirm availability and provide a timeline estimate within two business days. Custom review orders require advance booking.
It depends on the game's length and our current capacity. Short-to-medium games (under 15 hours) typically take two to three weeks from receipt of a review key. Longer games take longer. We provide an estimated timeline when confirming your order and we don't commit to dates we can't meet. Publication timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Custom review orders are non-refundable once editorial work has begun. If a cancellation is requested before any work has started, we handle these on a case-by-case basis. For questions about a specific order, contact us directly at [email protected].
