Last updated: January 2025. This document explains how Questilog makes editorial decisions, handles commercial arrangements, and maintains the separation between paid and independent content.
Questilog operates as an independent editorial platform. Editorial decisions — including which games to cover, what conclusions to reach, and how to frame coverage — are made by the editorial team without outside direction.
This independence applies equally to organic (unpaid) content and to commissioned (paid) content. Commissioning a review or editorial placement does not transfer editorial control to the commissioning party. The editorial team retains sole authority over the conclusions published.
Questilog accepts commercial arrangements with game developers and publishers. These arrangements take the form of custom review orders, sponsored editorial placements, and premium sponsored reviews. All such content is subject to the following conditions:
Content produced without any commercial arrangement — organic reviews, news, opinion pieces — carries no sponsorship label.
Any page or article produced wholly or partly under a commercial arrangement with a developer, publisher, or third party is labelled with a disclosure notice. This notice:
Removing or obscuring a sponsorship label is not permitted under any circumstances, including at the request of the commissioning party.
Questilog does not send article drafts to developers, publishers, or any other third party for approval prior to publication. Finished articles are published directly.
Developers and publishers who commission coverage accept that they will not receive the article in advance and cannot request changes to editorial conclusions, tone, or framing before or after publication.
This applies without exception to all service types, including custom game reviews, standard editorial placements, and premium sponsored reviews.
Questilog will correct factual errors in published content on request. Factual errors include:
Factual corrections are noted transparently in the article with a correction notice and date.
Questilog does not change editorial conclusions — scores, recommendations, subjective assessments — after publication, regardless of who requests the change. An editorial opinion that a game has a weak narrative or poor performance does not constitute a factual error and will not be removed or altered on this basis.
To submit a correction request, contact [email protected] with specific details of the claimed error and supporting evidence.
Questilog does not currently use a fixed numerical scoring system. Reviews express editorial conclusions in written form. Where summary assessments appear, they reflect the editor's genuine evaluation of the game at the time of writing.
Review conclusions are not negotiated in advance. A commissioned review order does not guarantee a positive, neutral, or negative assessment. The outcome reflects the editor's experience with the game.
Team members do not review games in which they have a personal financial interest. Team members do not review games from developers with whom they have a personal relationship that could compromise editorial judgment. Where a conflict of interest exists, the review is assigned to another team member or not published.
If a team member receives a game as a personal gift outside of standard review key processes, they disclose this in the relevant article.
Questilog is not affiliated with any game publisher, developer, platform holder, or games industry body. We receive no funding from platform holders (Steam, PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox) or their parent companies. Our revenue comes from custom review and editorial services, and any advertising arrangements disclosed in our Cookie Policy.
We hold no press accreditation from any official gaming industry body. Coverage decisions are made on editorial grounds only.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued operation of the site after an update does not imply retroactive approval of previous content.
